Bask in Your Natural Beauty

Natural beauty is within reach with PDO threads, a minimally invasive alternative to surgical aesthetic treatments. PDO threads are the most natural way of achieving more voluminous lips without injecting various fillers into the skin. Fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, and loss of volume can be addressed to enhance your own beauty. PDO threads promote natural collagen production while creating a lifted and more voluminous appearance. The procedure uses very thin threads composed of polydioxanone (PDO), the same material found in dissolvable sutures. The treatments require only local anesthesia and virtually no down time.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no mandatory preparation prior to treatment. Avoid medications that can thin the blood prior to treatment (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, high dose Fish Oil). Some individuals prefer to take homeopathic Arnica or Tylenol prior to treatment to help with minor procedural pain.

Patients are recommended to finish filling out new patient and pre-procedural paperwork on the patient portal prior to their appointment. Please arrive 10 minutes early to the appointment to ensure we have consents and other forms filled out.

Please come without make-up on. Any present make-up will be removed prior to procedure. If you are on blood thinners or take other supplements or medications that thin the blood (Fish Oil, Vitamin E, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, etc.), you may need to consult with your provider in order to stop these medications a few days prior to the procedure. Smoking and alcohol consumption should be avoided a few days prior to procedure and at least one week after treatment to ensure proper healing.

While this is a simple treatment that should not disrupt your life greatly, we recommend holding off on any dental procedures, as well as avoiding the application of pressure during relatively safe activities such as sleeping.

Minor bruising and swelling is normal and to be expected. Avoid exercise for 24 hours after treatment. Avoid washing your face for 12 hours following treatment. Avoid animated facial expressions for a week post treatment. Do not wear make-up or apply facial creams for 48 hours following treatment.

It may take a minimum of two plus weeks for treatment to become noticeable and the effect can last up to two years. Thread “tune ups” can be done after about 9 months to help build on the rejuvenation and new collagen formation from initial treatment.

Treatment time will depend on what we are addressing. Lip volumization treatment will take approximately 45 minutes, which includes a brief history, application of numbing medicine, and thread insertion. Full face and neck lift will take longer, and we generally reserve 1.5-2 hours for treatment.
